Two young mermaids were swimming along the sea corals when they saw way at a distance, an old sunken ship resting on a sandy bottom. Out of curiosity the younger mermaid encouraged her older sister to come with her and do some exploring for fun. They both proceeded to swim to the top deck of the ship when they happened to notice lots of holes and cracks in the wooden planks of the floor. The missing and cracked planks certainly would allow the two mermaids a means to enter so they could further explore the ship and satisfy their curiosity. As they entered the ships chamber, they noticed the room was filled with all kinds of neat stuff. Some of the artifacts they discovered were old sea chests, urns, pottery of all sizes and shapes, lanterns, and a large bronze cannon off to one side of the chamber. Surrounding the bronze cannon were a lot of small shiny objects. As they swam closer to investigate they started to collect beautiful green emeralds, gold chains, and mounds of gold and silver coins.
The two sisters always enjoyed playing together and liked to pretend they were mermaids, as they did over 260 years ago when that same ship was sailing on its way to Spain from the Island of Cuba. An unexpected storm hit and sank the ship. The two young girls later came back as mermaids.
